I was abused by my married boyfriend - Benedicta Gafah says after Afia Schwar drops photo with her face battered

The life of celebrity always looks rosy if you are watching from the outside. But it is not always the case as many of us have come to believe. Being humans, celebrities go through high and low moments just like the ordinary person does and sometimes theirs tend to be worse. One such case is that of Ghanaian actress, Benedicta Gafah, who has suffered the worst form of physical abuse that any woman would dread experiencing.

In a photo which has popped up online, Benedicta Gafah was seen with bruises all over her face accompanied by blood marks.

One of her eyes was swollen to the point that the lid covered the eyeball. In short, Gafah looked very bad badly beaten in the photo. The photo, Gh Breaking news understands, was posted on Whatsapp by Afia Schwarzenegger with a promise to give more details on her Political Police show on TV Africa on Tuesday. Afia Schwar's post has however not gone down well with Gafah who has expressed his displeasure that the TV host was trying to mock her for getting abused by a man. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Gafah opened up on the whole incident which birth the photo in question. According to the actress, she was brutally assaulted by her boyfriend about four years after she decided to break up with him.

"I’m not ashamed of this picture at all. This picture is a reflection of our world today and the plight women go through every day. I went through this 4 years ago and by the Lord's grace, look at me now. I have favour with the Lord and living my best life!!!," parts of Gafah's statement read.

Afia Schwar who is a victim of such abuse herself has been advocating for women to leave abusive relationships and it is quite confusing to see her trying to mock someone for being abused.
Gafah's expression of disappointment could, therefore, be said to be justified. But even that and how touching the actress' story is, it reveals she may have lied to Ghanaians when she recently claimed that she had never dated a married man before. It will be recalled that Gafah in an interview with Abeiku Santana on the 'Atuu' show on UTV categorically denied ever dating a married man. This even led to a response from Gafah's friend turned enemy, Xandy Kamel who claimed she could count about five married men Gafah had affairs with. One of them, Xandy said, once brought khebab to Gafah's house to sleep with her.
